The number of garments produced annually has doubled since 2000 and exceeded 100 billion for the first time in 2014 and an estimated 92 million tons of textile waste is created annually from the fashion industry. Shockingly, every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned globally.

Our vision is to run a fashion label that puts our beliefs and values at the forefront of our decisions. We strive to make our industry into a forward thinking, innovative fashion industry, that conserves and restores our environment. We want to prevent the depletion of precious resources, degradation of the soil, air and water pollution and the harm it causes to our health, and the livelihood of others. We promise to speak openly, show transparency and to show respect to our planet and our invaluable makers and artisans. We will always focus on slow fashion, using natural sustainable materials, producing small production runs and delivering the highest-quality pieces, as long as we remain Rooh Collective.

The Collins dictionary defines ‘Sustainability’ as the ‘Avoidance of the depletion of natural resources in order to maintain an ecological balance.' In other words - do not take from the earth more than it can replenish, and do not put back into the earth more than it can take.
