Organic cotton is our cotton of choice for many reasons. It is much more sustainable than conventional cotton, using no chemicals or artificial intervention to grow, preserving our natural resources and protecting the Earth. It uses less water, preserves soil quality and uses less energy for growth, promoting biodiversity and saving habitats for many species of wildlife. It is farmed by hand and is much safer for its farmers (1,000 people die every day from pesticide poisoning). The result is stronger, softer, much more durable cotton that when made into garments, feels more luxurious, is breathable, does not pill or shrink and stands the test of time in your wardrobe.

Conventional cotton needs almost 12 times more water than organic.

80% of organic cotton is watered using rainfall.

Conventional cotton uses a genetically modified seed which can lead to the development of ‘superweeds’ that cannot be eradicated.

Organic cotton is never genetically modified and is naturally more pest-resistant.

Machine picked conventional cotton is weaker from chemical use and farming methods; it is not as soft and does not last as long.

Organic cotton fibres are longer and stronger, super soft and much more durable and long-lasting.

Conventional cotton farms use the same soil every season meaning it becomes nutrient-poor and requires more chemical intervention for growth.
